horse's neck

A Horse's Neck is an American cocktail identifiably sporting a long, curling strip of lemon rind. It is made with brandy (or sometimes bourbon) and ginger ale, with a long spiral of lemon peel draped over the edge of an 'old-fashioned' or highball glass.

Ingredients

  • 4 cl brandy
  • 12 cl ginger ale
  • dash of angostura bitters

Garnish: long spiral of lemon zest

Recipe

  1. pour brandy and ginger ale directly into highball glass with ice cubes.

  2. stir gently.

  3. garnish with lemon zest.

  4. if desired, add dashes of angostura bitter.
