vieux carré

The Vieux Carré is a made with rye whiskey, cognac, sweet vermouth liqueur, Bénédictine, and Peychaud's bitters.

Ingredients

  • 3 cl rye whiskey
  • 3 cl cognac
  • 3 cl sweet vermouth
  • 1 barspoon bénédictine
  • 2 dashes peychaud's bitters

Garnish: orange zest and maraschino cherry

Recipe

  1. pour all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice cubes.

  2. stir well.

  3. strain into chilled cocktail glass.

  4. garnish with orange zest and a maraschino cherry.
